Creamware Reward Plate ~ For a Good Girl 1820

VERY EARLY CHILDS TRANSFERWARE PLATE

FOR A GOOD GIRL

Staffordshire England ~ c. 1820

This fabulous soft paste childrens antique plates measure 7 1/4" in diameter and is transfer printed in black with soft matte polychrome enameling.

The plate features a scalloped rim with press moulded flowers and foliage enameled in shades of orange, yellow, and pink. The outer rim is painted in a lovely shade of corral.

The Plate, For a Good Girl, has a sweet scene of a milkmaids cow outside of the barns in rural England.

Condition is Great, light weight and beautifully potted. Plate has DM&P Manheim labels, auctioneers in London and New York.

Plates like this were made as gifts for good children and rewards of merit.
